Invagination is a typical out-of-plane deformation occurred in tissue morphogenesis. In the invagination process, apical constricted cells reside within a spatial pattern to establish a certain three-dimensional tissue shape. However, from the mechanical view point, the role of spatial patterns in tissue deformations has not been revealed yet. Reversible network reconnection (RNR) model is proposed as a useful model for analyzing tissue deformation from the mechanical view point. In this study, we investigate the role of spatial pattern of apical constricted cells in tissue deformation by using RNR model. Simulation results suggest that the spatial pattern determines the location and direction of out-of-plane deformation.
