子育て中に、子供が言語を獲得する過程に強く興味が引かれ、子供が少し手を離れてから大学院に入学しました。以後、日本語と英語の音声を研究してきましたが、現在まで音声への興味は尽きることはなく、音声実験と音声分析を繰り返しています。
ここ十年程は日本人英語の音声的特徴をいろいろ調べ、日本語と英語の相違点や、英語発音の習得法を研究テーマにしてきました。
今後は「日本語のリズム」とはいかなるものかという、難しいけれども最も興味が引かれる問いに対する答えを求めて、研究していきたいと思います。
