研究紹介：表象・言説・マイノリティの社会的位置づけ

表象と社会的な位置づけの関係性を軸に、マイノリティに関する言説が現代社会においていかなる分断構造や権力関係をもたらしているのかを研究しています。特に、人種やジェンダーに基づく社会的分断を固定化する「言説の力」と、そこからの逸脱や抵抗、解放的・対抗的な表象の可能性（Counter-Representation）に注目しています。

【現在の主な研究テーマ】 1. 「モデル・マイノリティ」神話の歴史的・言説的分析 マイノリティ（特にアジア系）をめぐる「モデル・マイノリティ」言説が、教育政策や労働倫理、公共のナラティブにおいてどのように配置され、人種的境界線の構築や階層的な権力構造の維持に寄与してきたかを検証しています。（例：1960年代以降の米国政治からMAGA運動などに至る言説空間の分析）。こうした言説空間において、表象する主体と表象される客体の双方がいかに形成されるかを批判的に分析しています。

2. 周縁化された主体の視覚性と文化的抵抗 批判的談話分析（CDA）を用い、周縁化された人々（例：災害の被災者、ヘイトスピーチの標的となる人々など）のメディア表象を分析することで、社会的「包摂と排除」の力学や、それが当事者の自己認識に与える影響を明らかにしています。

3. サブカルチャーにおける自己物語りと連帯の可能性 現在はサブカルチャー領域にも焦点を当て、表象される主体自身による「自己物語り（self-narration）」が、いかにして新たな連帯や文化的アライアンスを生み出し、周縁から支配的なナラティブに挑戦し得るかを探求しています。

【最新の研究：BL（ボーイズラブ）研究における対抗的表象】 カルチュラル・スタディーズの枠組みを用い、BL作品を「対抗的表象（Counter-Representation）」のサイトとして分析しています。特に「オメガバース」設定における男性妊娠のトロープや、感情的ケアの言説構造などを具体的に読み解くことで、これらのオルタナティブな表現形式が、既存のジェンダー規範や家族規範に対して持つ社会的・政治的意義を再評価しています。

Overview My research critically interrogates the relationship between representation and the social positioning of minorities, analyzing how dominant discourses construct and reinforce structural divisions and power relations within contemporary society. A core focus of my work is the mechanism by which discourses on race, class, and gender perpetuate social stratification, as well as the potential for resistance and emancipatory counter-representation to challenge these entrenched structures.

Key Research Themes

1. Historical and Discursive Analysis of the "Model Minority" Myth This theme examines how the "Model Minority" discourse—particularly concerning Asian Americans—has been deployed across educational policies, labor ethics, and public narratives to construct racial boundaries and maintain hierarchical power structures. By tracing this discourse (e.g., from post-1960s U.S. politics to phenomena such as the MAGA movement), I analyze the formation of subjectivity for both the representing agents and the represented subjects within these highly contested discursive spaces.

2. Visuality of Marginalized Subjects and Cultural Resistance Utilizing Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA), I analyze the media representation of marginalized subjects (e.g., disaster victims, targets of hate speech) to clarify the complex dynamics of social exclusion and inclusion, and their profound impact on self-perception and identity formation.

3. Subcultures, Self-Narration, and Emerging Solidarities My current focus explores the realm of subcultures, specifically investigating the potential for self-narration by represented subjects to generate new solidarities and cultural alliances. I am interested in how these emerging voices challenge dominant narratives from the periphery.

Latest Research: Counter-Representation in Boys' Love (BL) Studies My recent work utilizes the framework of Cultural Studies to analyze Boys' Love (BL) media as a critical site of counter-representation. Through specific analyses of recurring themes—such as the male pregnancy trope within the "Omegaverse" setting and the discursive structure of emotional care—this research reassesses the social and political significance of these alternative forms of expression in challenging established gender and heteronormative family conventions.
