Construction of photovoltaic system using the light-harvesting function of chlorophyll

In this study, Mg chlorophyll adsorbed on TiO2 film electrode which is model of natural LH protein-chlorophyll pigment is prepared and photovoltaic conversion system using the light-harvesting function of Mg chlorophyll adsorbed on TiO2 film is constructed. The purpose of this study is the preparation of chlorophyll assembly on electrode mimicking natural LH-protein and its application for photovoltaic conversion system. Photocurrent was increased under irradiation or monochromatic light of 660nm and the peak of action spectra was appeared around 400 and 660 nm.This result indicates the observed photocurrent induced by chlorophyll, especially the light of around 400 and 660 nm attributed to chlorophyll was used efficiently.
