Single crystal growth of A-site deficient superconductor Ca2-xCuO2Cl2

Ca2-xCuO2Cl2 is a single-layer oxychloride superconductor in which A-site cation deficiency works as hole-carrier source. Ca2-xCuO2Cl2 single crystals with T-C of 25 K and 36 K were grown at high pressures of 4 and 5.5 GPa. It was indicated that Ca deficiency x in Ca2-xCuO2Cl2 single crystals are controlled by tuning applied pressures. The applied pressure-dependent hole-carrier content are common in both of Ca2-xCuO2Cl2 and Ca2-xCuO2Cl2. (C) 2007 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
