Originally I was trained as a general psychiatrist at Kyushu University and National Kokura Hospital, then, specialized in consultation-liaison psychiatry at National Disaster Medical Center.
As a researcher, I have conducted a prospective cohort study of accident survivors from 2004 to 2011, and randomized controlled trials concerning the effect of omega-3 fatty acids on prevention for posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) in accident survivors and rescue workers since 2008. Through these works, I gained excellent training on methodology of clinical study. Research activities are currently focused on mental health epidemiology, perinatal mental health, traumatic stress and resilience.
