The Hall effect of amorphous sp metals is studied theoretically for a hypothetical single-component system. Both the d.c. and the Hall conductivities are calculated in the framework of Edwards' theory by including the full broadening effect of the spectral densities. The electronic density of states (DOS) is also calculated in the same formalism. A clear correlation is observed between the structure-induced DOS minimum and the deviation of the Hall coefficient from its free-electron values.
