Cell suspension cultures of Geranium thunbergii produced (+)-catechin, procyanidin B3, pentagalloylglucose, and phyllanthusiin D which is not found in the intact plant. Geraniin, the main tannin in the intact plant, was detected in the cells of a different strain of this culture. © 1991.
