Microscopic study of alpha-cluster condensation in light 4N nuclei

Within the new framework of alpha-cluster wave function which is of the a-particle condensate type, we study C-12 and O-16. The results show that states of low density close to the alpha-particle threshold in both nuclei are possibly of this kind. It is conjectured that all self-conjugate 4n nuclei may show similar features.
