Second-harmonic generation induced by optical poling has been observed in 15Nb(2)O(5)(.)85TcO(2) bulk glass, although the decay of second-harmonic nonlinearity is rapid compared with the case of thermal/electrical poling. The magnitude of second-order nonlinearity is saturated after optical poling for about 400 s.
