The purpose of this study is to investigate the qualitative contents of the interaction between job candidates and organizations during the job hunting process. The job hunting process is defined as the pre-entry investigation period of the organizational socialization process (Moreland & Levine, 1982). Two interviewers conducted multiple interviews of the same interviewees for triangulation. Interviewees were all female junior college students. The narrative of one of the interviewees was analyzed with attention to the following four categories: details of job hunting experience; the interaction with organizations; the meaning of job hunting; minority identity as a junior college candidate versus a four-year-university candidate in the job hunting situation.
