I am a historian of early modern Britain, with particular focus on religious and political ideas.

I have worked on

- late 16th-century Scottish political thought; King James VI (undergraduate disseration)

- late 16th-century English episcopalian thought; Richard Hooker (master's thesis)

My doctoral thesis is on 

- Grotian natural law and its reception among English Reformed divines

- Catholic legal thought and its reception among English Reformed divines

- Thomas Barlow (1608/9-1691)

- Interregnum and Restoration England

- History of the Church of England

- History of the University of Oxford, especially the Queen's College in the 17th century

- Intellectual history of marital ethics 

- Readmission of the Jews 

- Intellectual significance of the discussion of the legality of eating blood
