NIBB-Academia Sinica International Webinar of Aquatic Model Organisms for Basic Biology to Human Disease Models

Preface
Since the first NIBB International Practical Course (IPC) was held in 2007, it has been held every two years for graduate students, postdocs and young PIs using small fish models such as zebrafish and medaka.(http://www.nibb.ac.jp/en/interchange/ipc/course/2018/09/10th.html).
We already have about 100 Alumni from IPC. In 2012, with the cooperation of Dr. Winkler of National University of Singapore (NUS), it was held overseas as “The NUS / TLL / NIBB joint practical workshop on Genetics, Genomics and Imaging in Medaka & Zebrafish”. In October 2020, the 2020 Academia Sinica / NIBB Joint International Practical Workshop was planned to be held in Taipei, Taiwan as the second IPC overseas, but this workshop was postponed to 2022 due to COVID-19.
The NIBB-Academia Sinica International Webinar of Aquatic Model Organisms for Basic Biology to Human Disease Models will be held this time by the National Institute for Basic Biology and Academia Sinica as an attempt for new international collaboration under the new coronavirus pandemic. At this Webinar, we will invite talented researchers from both Academia Sinica and NIBB as well as three researchers from past IPC participants/instructors to give a lecture along with two plenary speakers, Dr Tu of Chinese Academy of Science and Dr. Winkler of NUS. At this International Webinar, we will give lectures on a wider range of research fields, including not only fish but also Xenopus, sea urchins and coral.
