She received Ph.D. at the Tokyo Institute of Technology under the supervision of Hiroshi Nagahashi. She worked with TOYOTA CENTRAL R&D LABS., INC. for three years from 2007, and after 2010, she was a researcher in National Institute of Informatics. From 2011, she has worked in Tokyo Polytechnic University.
The main themes of her research include:
- Developing effective semantic segmentation method for object recognition using contextual information
- Integrating 2D pattern recognition scheme and 3D geometric techniques for scene understanding
- Estimating depth information in single image with scale-invariant texture features
